I came across a problem in Google Reader and iCab when the article link within feed went to a 404 Error.

Changing

<link><xsl:value-of select="$root"/>/entries/<xsl:value-of select="title/@handle"/>/</link>

to

<link><xsl:value-of select="$root"/>/articles/<xsl:value-of select="title/@handle"/>/</link>

solved the problem.

Could this be a fault of the reader?

is this feed going to Google Reader and iCab? if so, it could just be the way you have your sections set up.

It's just a new installation with 2 posts: http://spotthehall.net

iCab and Firefox try to read the url with /entries/ in it,

Safari reads the with /articles/ and correctly links to the post,

Google Reader is now missing out both and using clean-short urls - it's also pulling in another of my sites http://spotthehall.com in the same feed - may be because I had it on Maintenance mode?
