Search

Hi,

I have searched for a password field on extensions but haven't found.

Is there some1 who can make a new Extension Field having following features :

  • based on Text Input Field
  • no need for regex
  • has maxlength attribute default to 16
  • a selection options "Editable", "Generatable" or "Both"
  • password saved on database using password method (mysql5)
  • when checking using datasource, compare password(fieldValue) with the one in base
  • on backoffice, have 2 buttons instead of the an input field : "Edit" and/or "Generate"

Note: I know there is a members extension that has a part of this but I need a dedicated field.

If some1 could do this pls say it :) Else I will be forced to learn how to make extensions :D

regards,

While this won't be helpful, but can I ask why?

Are you trying to do your own custom logic to create a members area?

hi,

somehow yes.

I have 41 section on my site and will remove from them later the ones made by default.

Instead of article I have something called Topic, a topic can be also a poll, and a topic is part of a forum.

take a look at the hierarchy forum : http://digi00203.digicube.fr/forums/

topic detail isn't done yet :)

for the subject, actually I have a plain text pass what is really bad.

I have included a subpart of UML concerning forums

hhmm, no one to implement this suggestion ? :)

Not in two days they won't ;-)

Most extensions are borne from developer's individual project requirements. I don't tend to write an extension because someone else wants it, I usually create them because I need it. If you need someone to build it for you, you may find an incentive such as Fundry might entice a developer to picking up the project. I imagine most developers in these parts are holding out for the official Members extension, which will have its own password field type.

See if the Member Password field being developed for the Members extension will work for your needs, keeping in mind that this is currently in development and untested.
