Symphony.

I'm looking to allow an application on a subdomain post entries and pull data from Symphony. I need a little guidance here. What's the best way for other applications to interact with Symphony's data?

I know nothing about this, so somewhere to start would be helpful. Thanks.

Take a look at Nick's Rest API extension. It's a great start for what you would need. It requires an authenticated user, which would ensure that only your other application could do the interactions.
