Hi, I am new to symphony and have a question about adding a clickable link/url into a textarea field. I would like a non-technical user to be able to copy a url and then paste it into a textarea, and it is then it is clickable for anybody accessing the page.

For the life of me, I can't work out how to do it.

Thanks,

Chris

Are you talking about the backend or frontend? Have you taken a look at the editors available?

I suppose that it would be the frontend. The users (who would be language teachers) have no idea about html and would simply want to add content (which would include a url) in a textarea field for their student to access.

I will look into the different markup editors, but I presume this is for people will a knowledge of code. Thanks.

Have a look at markdown, it's easy enough to learn even for non tech people.

Thanks. I've found an extension that shows the markdown code. I'll a look at it.

Chris

Thanks alpacaaa. I have downloaded one of the markdown editors which converts. The problem is on the front end it is rendering the tags. I have ensured that the xsl file is using 'copy-of' to render the field, but it hasn't changed it. I'm using node() to render it also.
