I have a COLLECTIONS section that pulls in images from an ARTWORKS section using Subsection Manager.

I'd like to be able to select one image from each COLLECTIONS's Subsection Manager to use as an 'album cover'.

I could allow the first image in the subsection manager to be treated as the album cover, but I want to use the order of the subsection items to determine the order of items on a page (and I woudn't always necessarily want the first image on that page to be the album cover).

Is there another way I can accomplish this?

You could either add a checkbox to you subsection ([x] album cover) or add an input field to the parent section that stores the cover position (1, 2, 3, 4 …).

I thought about adding a checkbox to the subsection, but reasoned that this wouldn't work because, for example, an image could appear in two collections, but only required as the album cover for one.

The input field with cover position is an option, but it's not quite as graceful as it might be for the end-user…
