Symphony.

I have a symphony site setup on Apache and for some reason static files such as sitemap.xml, which exist, are not being served. I read that by default if the file exists, Apache should serve that up before symphony handles the url. I'm using a clean install of 2.3. Any ideas to why this would be? The page that comes up instead is: 'mydomain.com/404.shtml/'.

Try clearing your browser cache. Things like this happend to me as well.
