you can just check for $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] in your submit event.

Dear Friends,
I would like to save the IP of the visitor when he submits a form. I have tried with the Global Parameters extension (1.4), but without luck, it's not compatible with the latest Symphony-cms (2.3.1). Any solution, alternative, because IP is required info for our client.
