Is there an extension that currently exists, where I an 'massage' user submitted data from the front end before it is published to a section.

What I am trying to do is convert various fields such as name and address to title case. Currently I have an XSL utility that does this however I find myself using it quite a bit and it would be easier and cleaner to fix the data itself.

Could you just modify the event php itself?

In the load function, have it call your own custom function that does the modifications you need, and then have that custom function return to the __trigger() which will proceed with normal event behaviour. Just with your custom values added.
