New#8: Merge Joseph Denne's changes?

Is there anyway that the team would consider merging in some of Joseph Denne's changes. Here's a demo of his work, http://jit.josephdenne.com/. He's added more modes including rotation. Also, he seems to have the transparency thing solved.
