I get this error on my page if there are no breadcrumb trails.

i.e Section as Pages and the Home page doesn't need any breadcrumbs.. hence the NULL output. I'm filtering by entry titles and have a $title as required URL param. When typing into the url: localhost/en/home where en is the Symphony page and home is the Section entry title.. I get the above error and no output on the frontend. Am I using it wrong or is this a bug?

I had the same problem and I think I managed to fix it. In /breadcrumb_field/fields/field.breadcrumb.php on line 168 replace $field with $this. Also it looks like Subsection Manager conflicts with Breadcrumb Field, but a bug report has been submitted for that already.
