Description

Kimberly Warner is a photographer and filmmaker living in Portland, Oregon. Born and raised in a log home on Lake Winnebago in Wisconsin she grew up with an active imagination fed by the natural world around her. Upon graduating from Colorado College with a degree in biology and ethnobotany she traveled the world studying indigenous healing practices within various communities and tribes, finally ending up in Portland to pursue a career in eastern medicine.

Working as a model to pay for graduate school Kimberly was deep into the world of photography but always on the other side of the camera. She picked up a camera one day and that all changed. What started off as a hobby swiftly became a career, shooting everything from ad campaigns to street photography. It was only a matter of time until her love with photography grew into filmmaking. Like photography, it started with her in front of the camera in a few short films and then evolved into writing screenplays and shooting her first short film CPR (also a successful kickstarter project) which will be released in film festivals in 2012.

Recently Kimberly started Grieveyard Productions, which grew from her blog www.grieveyard.com, where she's growing a community that inspires each other to use death and grief as a catalyst for creativity and healing. As she states on her blog, her lifelong passion is to encourage a place for us all to "share, mourn, exalt, and contemplate the inevitable."
