It has certainly been an exciting year for Symphony and the super intelligent, ultra supportive, and drop-dead sexy community. To round the year off on a high note, the team made one last push to get a new Symphony update release out; despite what Santa says, you lot have been nice this year (with an appropriate amount of naughty).

Let us see what we've achieved for the year of 2009:

Craig Zheng joined us July this year. I was impressed by Craig's knowledge and insight to Symphony during my trip to New York. You can see the "interview video" here.

As soon as Craig came on board, the team went straight into the development of the new Symphony website. Along with the help of Airlock and Icelab's Max Wheeler, the new website was released 30 November.

For the Symphony system, we've seen seven minor point release this year. A month after the launch of the new website, version 2.0.7 was released. Collectively, more than 300 new features and bug fixes made in 2009.

On the community side, over 700 members have signed up this year, totalling 8,152 members to date. First to join as a new Symphony member in 2009 was Brendan Abbott, who is an active community member, contributor of several extension and helped with the Symphony core code. Brendan also happens to be local to us (30 minutes drive away).

Majority of extensions for Symphony had been released this year, totalling 135 extensions to date.

For showcase entries, there have been 97 new showcase entries this year, totalling 202 to date. The Black Axe by Joey Gordon started the year off, with Joy McDonald by Max Wheeler bookending the year on a high note.

It's been a very exicting year for 2009 but this is really just the beginning. Next year, we expect to see major updates to Symphony. We also have a long list of new features and improvements planned for the Symphony website. Shout-out goes to the Symphony community for a wonderful 2009; We look forwards to a fantastic 2010.

Thanks for all the great work people. Symphony has become my CMS of choice this year and I’m exited to see what 2010 will offer.

Thank you for your job, at least Symphony becomes my CMS of choice this 2009, after several attempts to get this CMS as my everyday tool with the 2.0.6 release and the great extensions published during this year I choose this software to develop all my projects.

For the 2010 I hope to have time to contribute to Symphony with some extension / utilities. At the moment I think that my firsts works with Symphony will be one of the first in the showcase of the 2010 ;-)

Happy New Year!

Great work y’all! I can’t wait to see what’s in store in 2010!

Biggest year yet! Can you believe Symphony 2 is now more than a year old? It’s come a long way.
