Quite a few people seem to be suffering from posts containing code not rendering properly. Here’s an example: http://pastie.org/633036. Wrapping the code with tickmarks does the trick. But without, the contents doesn’t even appear in the HTML source, so looks like a Data Source issue.

It is possible to log out everyone that views a topic by adding an image with the url set to the logout link.

If I enter non standard characters such as a square, diamond or the letter i with circumflex on top.. it renders the page with and error as seen in the 2 links above!

For some reasons - since today - every single thread in the forum is marked as unread. I deleted all forum related cookies, logged out - nothing changed. Any ideas how to fix this?

Clicking Mark all discussions as read solved the problem for me.

Edit: But now I see the thread I commented on (this one) as unread.

Yesterday several topics were not displaying any content except the title and the comment form. Also, search did not return any results.

Are you guys working secretly on new site features in a live environment?

Automatic “mark as read” (triggered by visiting the discussion page) is broken.

The link to the last unread posts is missing, too.

Some corrupt MySQL tables after we needed to do a hard reboot. Should be fixed now.

Also, search did not return any results.

We’ve updated the searching code. Should be much better now. And yes, we were secretly working directly on the live site. The old search code was so ineffective that we figured no-one would notice. ;)

Thanks for the code, Alistair! I also find myself in need to provide much better search results. Also, nice to know that if the site is functioning perfectly no site improvements are coming our way. :)
